Police appeal after 84-year-old suffers serious injuries in Elgin accident

Police are seeking witnesses to a serious road accident that happened in Elgin on Saturday afternoon.

The accident, involving an 84-year-old man from Elgin who was on a mobility scooter and a Land Rover Freelander vehicle, happened at around 2pm on Saturday, July 13 on the A96.

As a result the 84-year-old sustained significant injuries and was taken to nearby Dr Gray’s Hospital where his condition has been described as serious but not life-threatening.

Sergeant Ian Falconer, of the Road Policing Unit, commented: “The road was busy at this time with a number of vehicles and pedestrians, and we are keen to speak to them in order that we can build a complete picture as to the circumstances.”

The road remained closed for approximately five hours while a collision investigation was carried out.
