Concerns over bogus door-to-door ‘survey’ for Moray pub

Residents in Forres are being warned that a group of men knocking on doors claiming to be conducting a survey on behalf of a Moray country pub are bogus.

The warning came from the owners of the Duffus Inn, who said that they were unsure as to why anyone was misrepresenting them but asked anyone who was concerned to inform the police.

Posting on their social media page the Duffus Inn owners said: “It has been brought to our attention by a concerned member of the public that a group of men have been going door to door in the Forres area saying they are conducting a survey on behalf of The Duffus Inn.

“We have no link to this group, nor have we asked for any surveys to be done on our behalf.

“We do not know if the intention of these people is sinister or otherwise, but would advise that anyone who may encounter the group refuse to give any information.

“It may also be advisable to contact the police, as the lady who was good enough to inform us that she had been approached did today.”

Anyone concerned with the nature of any cold callers can advise local police by calling 101.
