A Moray single parent and full-time student still managed to find time to volunteer for the Community Health and Social Care Partnership.
Rachel Fraser’s dedication to her voluntary work earned her the accolade of Moray’s most outstanding volunteer of the year.
Almost 100 people were on hand at the tsiMoray hosted awards to witness Rachel being selected from 50 nominations.
Claiming runners-up awards were Tich Young and Claire Bartam.
Rachel has been volunteering for just over a year and is currently a ‘home buddy’ visiting a lady once a week, while she has remained a committed member of the Moray Calls team.
She has been described as a ‘gem’ who provides a fantastic example who can always find time in her busy life to contribute to the Moray community.
For making “undeniably massive” contributions to the Elgin Youth Cafe and Moray Sea Cadets, Claire Bartram and Titch Young received runners-up awards.
The Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award is an annual award formally recognised by tsiMORAY.
Still in its infancy, the award is building up a huge amount if momentum and with each year and an increase in nominations, support continues to grow for it.
