Moray school to feature on year-long television project

Gordonstoun

Moray’s top people’s school is to feature as the subject of a new television documentary series being shot over the next year.

Gordonstoun School pupils will have cameras following their every move both in classes and while they take part in outdoor activities.

The series is expected to feature footage from two of the school’s boarding houses, speaking to students and staff as they progress through the academic year.

Speaking for ITN Productions, head of factual and features Emma Read explained: “We look forward to revealing a new perspective into one of Britain’s most well known schools through the eyes of its pupils and staff.

“The series will give viewers an insight into the reality of modern life at this unique institution – as well as its pupils’ academic life and achievements.”

Gordonstoun’s principal Simon Reid added: “By following the school for a year viewers will have a chance to see the different aspects of life at Gordonstoun today.”

Famous pupils who attended Gordonstoun include the Duke of Edinburgh and the Prince of Wales as well as Prince Edward.

Lossiemouth’s Olympic gold medal winner Heather Stanning was also a pupil at the school which she revisited to retain her fitness in the run-up to the London games in 2012.
