Pirate invasion is just another day on Spey Bay

People around the Spey Bay area might have been excused for thinking they had been flashed back in time over the weekend when Pirates invaded the Moray coastline.

Children were delighted, however, to be taking part in an event that allowed them to dress up as raiders of the high seas.

That was the scene at the Scottish Dolphin Centre when children and adult were fully into the spirit of the occasion, part of a series of summer events that have been held at the centre.

Events volunteer Aimee Burrows said: “I’m really happy with how the day has gone with plenty of activities for everyone.

“There has been a good crowd with bursts of people coming indoors when the rain showers arrived!

Prizes will be handed out to those judged to have been the best dressed for the day with Aimee saying that the winners would be announced in the next few days.

The centre at the mouth of the River Spey remains open until October.
