Afternoon tea with Lossiemouth’s Helicopter Heroes or a ‘Sapper Experience’ – spending half a day with 39 Engineers at Kinloss Barracks – are just two of the auction prizes at Moray Business Women’s forthcoming annual awards and charity ball.
Dinner guests will have the opportunity to bid for afternoon tea for four with 202 Squadron’s SAR detachment at RAF Lossiemouth.
The prize includes a tour of a Sea King helicopter and a chat with the crew about their Search and Rescue role before it transfers in April to civilian contractor’s Bristow.
The Sapper experience will see two lucky bidders have coffee in the regimental headquarters and short briefing on 39 Engineer Regiment, followed by a test of their marksman (or woman) skills on the indoor rifle range with the SA-80 Mk 2 rifle.
After more coffee winners will then have the chance to try out the Royal Engineers big green diggers, when they will be given some plant operation instruction. To complete the Sapper Experience the winning bidder and guest will be treated at lunch by the Commanding Officer in the Officers Mess.
Other prizes up for raffle and auction include a family ticket for Landmark Forest Adventure Park, a luxury night’s stay in their newest room range at the Kingsmill Hotel, Inverness, dinner for four at the Kitchen Inverness or tickets to see Brian Adams in Glasgow (donated by the Clydesdale Bank).
All proceeds from the auction and raffle will go to Moray Business Women’s 2014 Charity – Moray Area Cancer Support.
Moray’s Business Woman of the Year will also be announced at the event on an evening that will see presentation of three awards – Moray Business Woman of the Year, the Most Enterprising Business of the Year and the Member of Achievement.
The Awards are sponsored by the Clydesdale Bank, Johnston Carmichael Chartered Accountants and CAG Architects Ltd.
Carole Small, Moray Business Women President said: “This event is the highlight of our events calendar.
“It is foremost an important opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women in Moray but it’s also a fun and fantastic night out. We have some great prizes, some of which money alone cannot buy and which would make a brilliant Christmas present so we are hoping that we make a huge amount for our chosen charity.”
The awards are to be held on Saturday, October 25 at the Mansfield Hotel in Elgin – business tables are available at £520 for eight places, £600 for 10 or £65 for individuals.
Booking enquiries should be made to shellwaters80@gmail.com while full information on the event can be found on the Moray Business Women website. www.mbwc.org.uk.
