Launch date set for new Moray Transport Guide

Transport options to be explained in new guide

A long awaited guide on transport options available to people in Moray and where they can go for advice on meeting their transportation needs is to be launched this month.

The Moray Transport Seminar was formed in 2011 by a transport working group of the Moray Forum, and one of their long term aims has been to join with other key agencies in producing a Transport Guide.

Now the guide – a directory available on transport services in Moray and how they can be accessed by the public – is to be launched at a meeting of the Seminar later this month.

In an introduction to the guide the Chair of the Moray Forum, Anita Milne, said: “This directory has been produced in order to address an ongoing concern that has been expressed of the lack of information on what transport is available in Moray, the criteria for accessing certain transport services and where to go for further advice.”

The guide contains details of Taxi and Private Hire services and well as local bus and rail services. It provides information on travel concessions available and health transport services and community car schemes in operation.

Split into two parts, the guide has general information on all kinds of transport available as well as more detailed information showing listings area by area and useful telephone numbers.

The Moray Transport Seminar is to launch the guide on Saturday, November 29 at the Lhanbryde Community Centre. Anyone interested in attending must book in advance – details can be obtained by contacting Fiona Rolt on 01343 843025 or by email to fionarolt@btinternet.com.
