Moray’s business women encouraged to networking event

Women business owners in Moray are being offered an opportunity to promote their work in a friendly and informal setting with like-minded owners.

An event organised by Moray Businesswomen is to be held at Elgin’s Laichmoray Hotel next week aims to showcase ladies in business.

The networking event is offering five-minute slots during which local women can put their business in the limelight – while they are also being afforded the chance to set up a table or stall displaying their company.

Moray Businesswomen President Susan Longmuir said: “Our group is all about networking and this event will demonstrate just that. It gives our members a chance to promote their business in a friendly informal setting and hopefully gain some new customers.

“Our February event attracted a record number of ladies along so here’s hoping the showcase will be as popular.”

All women in running your own business or working in a business in the public or private sector is welcome to attend the event. Cost for members will be £7 and non-members/guests £10 and includes a finger buffet. Bookings can be made via the Eventbright website.

Caroline Overton of The Vintage Swallow, who has already booked her place at the event, commented: “Moray Business Women is excellent at facilitating opportunities to increase your business profile.

“The showcase is a chance for me to show members and other businesses what I do, and I would encourage other business women in the area to do the same. You have to shout about what you do well – be your own champion.”

Places are limited for the event at 7pm on Tuesday, March 3, and priority for tables and presentation slots will be given to existing members so early booking is advised through shellwaters80@gmail.com. Full details on of the event are contained on the Moray Businesswomen’s Facebook page.
