A tribute has been paid following the death of a former Moray councillor who has been described as being both “outspoken and charming”.
Ronnie Sim, who passed away on Sunday, was a Labour councillor in Elgin from 2000 until 2007.
Labour group leader at the Moray Council, John Divers, led the tributes to Mr Sim, saying: “This is a great loss to the people of Elgin and indeed to the Labour Party.
“Ronnie was a very well-known face and worked hard as an Elgin councillor for Cathedral Ward. He was as outspoken as he was charming and the Labour movement will miss him greatly.
“He was not only a close colleague as a councillor but as a Labour activist in the latter years he was very supportive of myself, Councillor Morton and former Councillor Jarvis.
“We always appreciated that. Our condolences go out to his family and all who knew him.”
