A LEADING MORAY firm has been named as the Home Builder of the Year at a prestigious business awards in Edinburgh.
Springfield Properties picked up the accolade in front of representatives from 900 companies from throughout the country at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
There was also a Lifetime Achievement Award to Bill Robertson CBE, founder of the Moray-based builders the Robertson Group.
At the Homes for Scotland awards was Moray MSP Richard Lochhead, who was among the first to congratulate the Moray winners. He said: “It was great to see two of Moray’s best known business leaders in the shape of Sandy Adam and Bill Robertson scooping major awards at the Homes for Scotland Awards Ceremony.
“Springfield’s success at the awards is fantastic for the Moray firm and is testament to the hard work and innovation of both the management team and the wider staff as they continue to provide high quality homes for thousands of people across Scotland.
“Bill Robertson’s Lifetime Achievement Award is equally deserved with a substantial legacy built up in the shape of Robertson Group. Great news for the individuals, the companies and Moray as a whole.”
Adding his congratulations was Angus Robertson MP: “I am delighted to see Moray based businesses dominating these awards, which are amongst the most prestigious in the housebuilding sector.
“The hard work, particularly, in the challenging economic environment of recent years is a huge credit to them and the awards thoroughly deserved.
“It is great to see home grown success from Moray and long may that continue!”
In addition to the main award Springfield Properties took the Employee of the Year award which went to Heather Henderson, best medium development, best small development and best customer service initiative.
