Motorist ‘lucky to be alive’ after crash outside Moray village

A ROAD ACCIDENT just outside Duffus on Monday left a driver requiring treatment at Dr Gray’s Hospital – and described as “lucky to be alive”.

The man was driving his blue Renault Megane along the B9012 from Duffus to Elgin when he lost control and crashed into a tree near the village.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were alerted shortly after 2.30pm with paramedics first on the scene to treat the driver.

A police spokesman said: “The male driver was conscious and breathing – but had suffered some injuries to his face in the collision. The car was a complete write-off.”

The road was closed until around 5pm in the wake of the accident at which fire crews attended to clean up debris and ensure the vehicle was safe.
