SUMMER HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES in Moray has rarely seen a wider range of opportunities with young people being encouraged to get out and about with another variety of pursuits this month.

A variety of activities are being run this week by Ignite: Moray Youth Arts Hub, including a nature-based workshop aimed at under-12’s and conducted by Earthtime at Brodie Castle on Thursday.

On Friday a similar workshop is being hosted in Fochabers by the Whale and Dolphin Centre and on the same day there will be a ‘craft gathering’ in the Forres House Community Centre.

Friday evening will see Bodysurf Scotland holding a dance session for over-12s at the Elgin Youth Café.

Next week the Hub will give young people aged 12 and over the chance to write, edit and record their own radio drama productions in a four-day broadcast world workshop at the Pinefield Industrial Estate in Elgin.

Youth worker for the Keith Loft Youth Project, Holly Hendry, said: “It is fantastic to have such a range of arts activities taking place this summer – and to be able to offer opportunities to a real mix of young people.”
