A LOCAL CLUB more used to fighting for fitness will this week join a number of organisations fighting the battle against Cancer when they hold a coffee morning.

The SFEAR Kickboxing, Health and Fitness centre on Baker Streets in Lossiemouth will be hosting a Macmillan Cancer Support coffee morning on Friday from 12.30pm until 3.30pm.

The cancer support charity have been holding their ‘world’s biggest coffee morning’ events throughout the UK this week – with most centred on Friday.

It is the largest fundraising event for people who are facing cancer and is being hosted throughout the UK – last year alone the coffee morning raised £25million with the charity hoping to top that in 2015.

SFEAR Kickboxing’s Jacquie Stewart said: “Cancer has in some way affected every family in Moray and throughout the UK and Macmillan is an organisation that does so much to help people suffering from all forms of the disease.

“We wanted to do something and the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning seemed to fit the bill! We are charging just £4 a ticket – reduced to £3 for concessions and under-5’s – and for that our guests can have as much tea, coffee and home bakes as they like.

“Also planned is dairy-free and gluten-free options as well as juice and hopefully some toys for the little ones to play with while the grown-ups enjoy their cake!

“We have been given two bottles of malt whisky so will also be holding a silent auction for these, while there will be a raffle with prizes that have been very kindly donated by local businesses.”
