A KEITH BAND on the verge of international chart success are set to entertain a home audience in a rare Moray gig next week.
The Carousels are a seven-piece outfit mainly from in and around Keith who are taking an unusual route to success with their original music that lends a great deal to 60’s pop and country.
The line-up of Roy McPherson, James Smith, Martyn Cowie, Sam Dixon, Mark Simpson, Amy Steele and Amy Paprikansky will take to the stage at the Elgin Town Hall as the support act to major Scots rockers Big Country on Friday, October 2.
Acoustic/Electric guitarist Roy McPherson told insideMoray: “Our last album was released on vinyl through Sugarbush records and on digital and cd through Northern Star.
“It’s been pretty well received and has been selling across the world – in particular we’ve had a lot of positive response from Spain, so our next release will be a seven-inch single on Spanish label ‘You are the Cosmos’.
“The two tracks we have recorded for this are ‘Like a loaded gun’ and ‘Lord speed my Hurricane.”
Roy said that the band are excited about the prospects for their latest recording and are now hoping to have their next alum released early in 2016.
Gigs are rare for the band who work hard in the studio when they are not studying – there is also the fact that their current homes are spread throughout Scotland.
Roy added: “We are though really looking forward to our last gig of the year at Elgin town hall and supporting Big Country. Tickets are still available from Shindig, Sound & Vision in Elgin, and TicketwebUK .”
