Elgin man assaulted after gatecrashing a party

Elgin Court
A PARTY GATECRASHER who climbed through the ground floor window of an Elgin home led to a man appearing at Elgin Sheriff Court this week.

Kieran Bond, 22, attacked the intruder and manhandled him back through the window – and continued to assault him even while he remained motionless on the ground outside.

Bond, of Grant Street in Elgin, admitted kicking and punching Darryl Wood in the head and body in the incident on October 12 last year. Fiscal Kevin Corrins told the court that a disagreement arose after Mr Wood had attended the property in Forbes Court uninvited.

The Fiscal said that Bond assaulted Wood as he tried to escape through a window, before he was first held back then dropped through the window. Neighbours who overheard the disturbance contacted the police who discovered Mr Wood with heavy facial injuries and a bruised and bloody nose.

When arrested, the court was told, Bond bragged to police that he had knocked Mr Wood unconscious. Speaking in his defence solicitor George Adam said that his client admitted his reaction was “out of proportion” and that he had now put behaviour of this nature behind him.

Sheriff Olga Pasportnikov ordered Bond to perform 240 hours of unpaid work over the next six months.
