AN ANNUAL SCHEME that recognises outstanding contributions from young people in Moray is seeking nominations from the public.
The Young Citizen Award Scheme is operated jointly by Moray Council, Elgin Rotary, Police Scotland and Diageo.
Nominations for the awards should be for young people in five categories – primary school, secondary school, individual, community group and international.
The scheme’s ethos is building self-esteem and developing an understanding of what citizenship means, as well as recognising good community work by young people. Nominations for the 2016 Awards will close on Friday, January 29 with a ceremony taking place for the winners in March.
Full details of the award categories and nomination forms can be obtained by calling 01343 563374 or by email to educationandsocialcare@moray.gov.uk. Details are also available on the Moray Council website.
