A SPECIAL ANNIVERSARY for a rural community is to be celebrated with a dinner early in the new year.
The Lower Speyside Young Farmers Club are to host their 70th anniversary in February by taking over the Elgin Town Hall for a dinner dance.
Cover an area of Moray from Buckie to Forres, the club meets regularly and organises visits that are both farming and non-farming related.
The club is aimed at young people aged from 14 to 26 who don’t necessarily need to be from a farming background although most have an interest in rural issues. LSYF is part of the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Club network which organises a number of local and national events and visits.
For their special anniversary dinner/dance on February 20, the club is hoping to hear from as many of their past members as possible who are invited to contact Ruth Thomson for details on the event and how to obtain tickets.
Ruth can be contacted on 07919 603887 or by email to lowerspeysideyoungfarmers@gmail.com.
