Incident at Tyock Industrial Estate prompts a renewed police appeal

A RENEWED APPEAL has been issued over an attack on an 18-year-old man at an Elgin industrial estate last week.

Information is being sought on the identity of the robber who approached his victim at the Tyock Industrial Estate at around 10.45pm on Saturday, December 12.

Police say that the assailant was wearing a ‘scream’ mask when he tried to steal cash and personal belongings from his victim, who was left unhurt but shaken by the incident.

After making further enquiries officers say that the man responsible for the attack has been described as being around 6feet tall and of heavy build. He was wearing a navy or black hooded top with white ‘Reebok’ writing and spoke with a local accent.

Leading the investigation is Detective Inspector Norman Stevenson, who said: “We have spoken again with the victim and he has given us clear detail on what the man responsible had covered his face with.

“He has also given us a good description of the clothing he has worn and what was written on the front. If anyone knows someone who fits the description and who may be responsible, I would appeal for them to call us.”

Anyone who believes they can help is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or via the 0800 555 111 Crimestoppers charity.
