MOTORISTS ARE WARNED that snow and ice are likely on many roads in Moray this morning in particular on higher ground away from the coast.
A Met Office weather warning predicts that freezing temperatures along the Moray coast and snow further inland can be expected to welcome the new week.
“Accumulations of 2cm to 5cm of snow are expected above 150m – with perhaps around 10cm on higher ground”, the Met Office warns.
However, the snow falls are likely to make way for ice and rain later this morning and into the evening – bringing equally challenging conditions for motorists.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We ask that under these conditions motorists take additional care when travelling throughout Aberdeenshire and Moray, as ice and snow could turn up pretty much anywhere.”
