THE POPULAR MIDNIGHT football series is set to return to Moray next week for another three-month competition in Elgin and Keith.

An evening league sponsored by the Scottish Football Association and the Bank of Scotland, midnight football will kick off in Elgin High School and the Keith Sports and Community Centre next Friday.

It will then continue weekly until March 18, with the free sessions being held from 8pm to 9.30pm and open to both male and female participants in the 12 to 17 age group.

A spokesman for Moray Council said: “The aim of the midnight leagues is to give youngsters something to do on a Friday evening at a time of year when outdoor activities are limited.
Players can enter either as individuals or as a team of up to eight.

The leagues, which have been running successfully since 2006, are again being delivered through Moray Council’s sports development section with qualified SFA coaches in attendance.”
