PEOPLE IN MORAY who have lost their jobs as a result of the downturn in the offshore Oil and Gas industry are being invited to a special event in Buckie next week.
Organised by the Partnership Action for Continuing Employment (PACE), the event is a partnership with Jobcentre Plus and seeks to offer advice on assistance available to job seekers from the offshore industry.
A spokesman said: “The event at the Buckie Baptist Church Hall on Cluny Place will be held on Tuesday, March 29 from 10am until noon.
“We are holding this event for individuals to attend due to the spike in redundancies within the Buckie area.
“They will hear from Skills Development Scotland and DWP on what help is available. There will also be a number of employers coming along and we will have SDS staff on hand to help you with applying for these vacancies.”
The event is open to anyone from Moray and surrounding areas and is free of charge – however, advance registration is required via the Eventbrite website.
