THE MORAY PUBLIC are being challenged to get creative with the humble tattie scone as more entries are sought for the annual event that forms part of Piping at Forres.

Launched as an added attraction with the Moray town first launched their hosting of the European Pipe Band Championships, the Tattie Scone championships has proven a popular attraction at the event.

Now organisers Riverside Kitchens are appealing for more people to step forward for the event this year as the closing date for applications approaches.

“The competition has seen some amazing ‘special ingredients’ used in enhancing the traditional tattie scone over the last few years,” a spokeswoman said, adding: “We are pretty confident that there are lots more secrets to be told – but we need people who are holding them to give them up!

“We urge anyone who has been thinking about entering to act now – it’s a really fun event but time is running out for people to get their entries in and give it a go.”

The competition is held as part of Piping at Forres on June 25 – entry forms and enquiries for the tattie scone competition should be directed to elaine@riversidekitchens.co.uk.
