THE ELGIN TOWN HALL is set to host a Community Health and Well Being day hosted by the Moray Community Planning Partnership.
Doors open on Tuesday, August 30 from 11am for a ‘taster’ programme of events of interest in every corner of the community, with the public being urged to drop in and see for themselves what is happening in their part of Moray.
An event spokeswoman said: “Attendance is free to all and we will even throw in a cuppa and biscuit. The day is about showcasing community groups and small providers in Moray, allowing people to see for themselves what is being made available in their communities in the health and wellbeing field.”
Moray’s community wellbeing team will kick off the day at 11am with Red Cross First Aid ‘games’, followed at 11.30 by ‘Healthy Food Made Easy’. Laughter Yoga, Mocktail taster sessions and an Alcohol Quiz feature as does Dance Exercise and Wellbeing Checks.
The day will be rounded off with a demonstration of how Drama Therapy works with Dragonfly.
Community volunteers will be on hand throughout the day offering advice on a range of subjects including Pet Therapy, Telehealth Care, Memory Boxes and Self-Directed Support.
