STAFF AND CUSTOMERS at a Moray supermarket have managed to raise over £600 to help send three local Kickboxing stars to the World Championships.

Rebecca White, Ellie Scott and Jason Fletcher, members of the SFEAR club in the Moray town, have been selected to represent Scotland at the championships in Italy next week.

Staff and customers at the Lossiemouth Co-Op store were determined that the pair should have some financial support – so organised and in-store Tombola and bag pack which managed to gather in £609 for the pair.

Helping organise the event was Kelly Main, who told insideMoray: “We are very proud of what Rebecca, Ellie and Jason have achieved just by reaching Scottish team for these finals, so felt we had to do something to help them on their way.

“We would like to thank all our customers for their generous support – now we wish all three well when they fly out on October 25 to Italy – and we are all looking forward to seeing them safely home again on October 31.”

The Lossiemouth trio will compete at the World Kickboxing Association championships in Carrara, where over 5000 athletes from 107 countries will be taking part.
