Outdoor group set on creating stronger community links

Outfit Moray will use new funding to build a ‘stronger community’ in Lossiemouth.

FUNDING TO HELP build stronger communities in Lossiemouth is to be used by outdoor adventure group Outfit Moray to help people ‘Get Active’ in their local area.

The grant from HealthKind via the Health Lotter, supported by the Peoples Health Trust, will enable the Lossiemouth-based charity to set up a new project that targets families, older people and young people.

The aim of ‘Get Active Lossiemouth’ is to create stronger connections between people in the community formed through sustained engagement in a project run by local people.

Outfit Moray CEO, Tony Brown, explained: “This is a fantastic opportunity to build a stronger community through shared adventure over a sustained period, as well as enjoying all of the great outdoor activities available here in Moray.

“All of the Outfit Moray team are very pleased to be working with the local community to help create and deliver this project.”

HealthKind has selected a number of postcodes within Lossiemouth from which the participants will be recruited. If you live at one of the postcodes (see below) and would like to take part in this exciting new opportunity, then you should contact Graeme Morrison, the project co-ordinator, on 01343 549571 or by Email to graeme.morrison@outfitmoray.com.
