TWO MEN ARE FACING charges over a number of alleged attempted break-ins to vehicles in the Bridge Street and Waterside Street areas of Elgin last week.
The men, aged 24 and 27, are the subject of a report submitted to the Procurator Fiscal following the incidents on Friday.
Inspector Graeme Allan commented: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the local community for their assistance with this inquiry.
“Tackling acquisitive crime is a priority for North East Division under Operation Magpie and a huge amount of proactive work is carried out on a daily basis to tackle such activity from the outset.
“I would urge the public to continue to assist us by ensuring their homes, sheds, garages and vehicles are locked and secure at all times.
“Anyone with concerns about acquisitive crimes in their area should contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous.”
