CONSIDERED BY MANY as the greatest ever Bond villain, one can imagine that those spotting Javier Bardem in Moray this week might have had cause for concern!
However, the Spanish actor who wowed movie goers in his performance as Raoul Silva opposite Daniel Craig’s Bond in ‘Skyfall’ had eyes only for a personal tasting of Chivas Regal.
Bardem was visiting the Strathisla Distillery in Keith as one of the ‘Global Faces’ of Chivas Regal, his visit recorded on film for release through the Chivas social media channels later this year.
His filmmaking association with Chivas is part of the Speyside distilleries’ ‘Win the Right Way’ advertising campaign, which delves into the stories of successful entrepreneurs from around the world.
Javier said: “The most successful people I know take success and failure in the same way – you have to learn from both experiences in order to make yourself a stronger person.
“By surrounding yourself with people who are honest with you and by helping them in return, you will achieve success together. So, here’s to those that try, for in trying they make the world a better place.”
Sunday saw the Oscar-winning actor exploring the Strathisla Distillery, the sources of the single malt found at the heart of the world-renowned Chivas Regal blend.
He met with master blender Colin Scott, the guardian of the Chivas Regal style who shared some of the secrets of the art of blending, while director of blending Sandy Hyslop presented the actor with his own exclusive blend of the latest releast, Chivas Regal Ultis.
Colin said: “By working together, our blending team has masterfully brought five unique single malts from across the Speyside region to create an exceptional blend which is truly the essence of Chivas Regal Ultis.
“Each individual malt and each individual blender has added an element of expertise to the whisky, which is unique to the blend, ensuring it is the ultimate embodiment of shared success.”
