Missing tourist giving cause for some concern

A REGION-WIDE APPEAL has been issued for information on the whereabouts of a tourist who has not been seen since arriving in Aberdeen on Tuesday.

Police Scotland believe that Steven Greenwell, 42, arrived at Aberdeen Airport with the intention of going hillwalking – although it is not known exactly where.

There has been no contact with Mr Greenwell since his arrival and that is the cause of concern.

Mr Greenwell is described as being 5ft 8in in height and of slim build with short fair/blonde air. It is not known what he was last wearing, but is likely to be dress in ‘proper’ hill walking clothing.

Sergeant Garry Garrow said: “I would appeal to anyone with information regarding Steven’s whereabouts, or who may have seen Steven recently to please get in touch.

“Although it is believed that Steven is a competent and experienced hill walker, the lack of contact from him is concerning for his friends and family. I would also ask Steven to contact someone to let them know that he is OK.

“Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2578/05.”
