ONE OF MORAY’S foremost and fastest growing attractions is to host the launch of the new Moray Leader programme next week.
The European funding supports communities and businesses throughout Moray by funding projects that contribute to economic and community development.
The programme being launched at the Morayvia Science and Aerospace Centre in Kinloss on May 26 will provide around £3.5million for projects run in line with the Moray Local Development Strategy. Moray operates Leader differently from other parts of Scotland in that responsibility for the project is not operated by Moray Council but rather tsiMORAY.
Guest speaker at the launch is Sarah Skerratt, a professor of rural society and policy at Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC). The launch will include presentations from groups who have had success thanks to funding from the previous Moray Leader programme.
Moray Leader is overseen by the Moray Local Action Group and funded by the Scottish Government and the European Community LEADER Programme 2014-2020.
More information on the programme is available online.
