Moray LEADER to take its funding message to communities

Normal MacAskill

A SERIES OF INFORMATIVE events are to be held throughout Moray in September and October to provide a further opportunity for communities to learn more about available LEADER funding.

Moray LEADER has organised the events in Keith, Buckie, Aberlour, Forres and Elgin and these will be open to anyone to attend.

They give people the opportunity to hear a presentation about Moray LEADER and to get their questions answered about the funding, which aims to invest in projects that will strengthen the Moray economy and build capacity in local communities.

Norman MacAskill, Moray LEADER Programme Manager said: “Our first applications for funding are now being processed, and some very exciting projects have already come forward. But there is room for many more enterprising and innovative projects to benefit from LEADER funding across Moray.

“We’ll be setting out our stall at these events, explaining how the funding works, what our priorities are for allocating funding and how potential applicants can work with the Moray LEADER Team to develop a successful application.”

The information events will run from 7 pm to 8.30 pm and tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. They will take place on the following dates:

• 27 September 2017 – KEITH, Ugie House hotel
• 28 September 2017 – BUCKIE, Buckie Thistle FC, Victoria Park
• 3 October 2017 – ABERLOUR, Aberlour Hotel
• 10 October 2017 – FORRES, FACT, 1 Leask Road
• 17 October 2017 – ELGIN, The Inkwell, Francis Place
