A FEMALE MOTORISTS had to be taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin after being involved in a two-car accident on the A941 near Rothes on Saturday.
The woman had to be cut free from her vehicle following the crash close to the Glen of Rothes Trout Fishery at around 4pm.
A Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said that the car in which the woman had been driving ended up in a ditch, with the road closed until it had been recovered.
She added that the woman had been trapped and hydraulic cutting equipment was used to release her from the vehicle, allowing her to be passed to the care of an Ambulance crew.
Confirming the crash a police spokeswoman said: “A woman has sustained injuries – the seriousness of the injuries has not been confirmed. She is being taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital for assessment.”
