Funding available through participatory budgeting

Health and Social Care Moray, the Health Improvement Team and tsiMORAY have come together to offer an opportunity for communities in Moray to bid for funding to enable and empower healthier communities by supporting people to make healthier food choices.

Funding is being made available to any group in Moray, be it a charity, community group, public sector, schools, voluntary organisations, social enterprises or any combination of the above. Funding is available through #YouChoose3, participatory budgeting process for a very limited time only.

Applications are invited from now until Monday, 12 November. An application toolkit has been designed to support potential applicants. The toolkit can be obtained by contacting info@tsimoray.org.uk to request a digital copy, or be downloaded directly from https://www.tsimoray.org.uk/youchoose3.

A workshop has been arranged for Tuesday, 13 November, in the Alexander Graham Bell Conference Room in Moray College to assist and strengthen applications.

“We aim to create a healthier Moray through supporting community projects that promote healthier food choices, access to health, affordable, local foods, and give opportunities to gain practical cooking skills across all ages” explains Laura Sutherland, Acting Health & Wellbeing Lead, Health and Social Care Moray.

“The impacts of poor diet and being overweight are profound.  They affect not only our health, but also our ability to lead happy, fulfilling lives.”

The focus of this funding opportunity is from the visions and outcomes from ‘A Healthier Future – Scotland’s Diet & Healthy Weight Delivery Plan’.  Further information on the delivery plan can be found at: https://www.gov.scot/publications/healthier-future-scotlands-diet-healthy-weight-delivery-plan/

Support and further information is available from elidh@tsimoray.org.uk or jan@tsimoray.org.uk
