MORAY IS GEARING up for residents and visitors taking part in ten days of healthy walks amongst some of the most revered scenery in the UK.
The Moray Walking Festival will run from June 18 through until June 28 – with participants hopefully able to enjoy long and warm summer days of exploration throughout the region.
Throughout the ten days there will be guided walks, talks and events as well as alternative outdoor pursuits – while the more serious walking enthusiasts will be taking part in a series of challenges and endurance races.
Walks for the Festival all carry a five-point rating from 1 – (Easy, mainly flat walking on paths with good surfaces) to 5 – (Strenuous, long walks with terrain suitable only for fit and experienced walkers).
A calendar of events throughout the Festival is available online that includes dates and timing for each walk or event plus entry requirements.
Full up to the minute details of the 2015 events can be found on the Moray Walking Festival Facebook page – look out in particular for the ‘Ghost Train Walk’ – an overnight trek from Grantown to Forres.
