A FOUR CAR pile-up saw emergency services being rushed to the A96 just outside Elgin on Sunday.
Police and Ambulance services were relieved to find that nobody was seriously injured when they arrived at the approach to the Linkwood Roundabout just before 1pm.
A Ford Fiesta, Audi Q3, Vauxhall Corsa and Peugeot 508 were involved in the accident on the busy junction near Waulkmill House. Two ambulance crews were rushed from Dr Gray’s Hospital but one left shortly after arrival while the second remained to treat minor casualties.
Several drivers and passengers were able to leave the scene unscathed including a mother and her baby, with only one person – the driver of the Peugeot – requiring further treatment although police said they did not believe it was serious.
A police spokesman said: “There was a four-vehicle traffic accident on the A96 east of Elgin at 12.55pm. The road was not closed and there were no reports of any significant injuries.
“Officers remained at the scene as recovery was ongoing.”
While the road remained open throughout the incident motorists suffered delays as a long tailback stretched for four miles to Lhanbryde.
