AN EXTENSIVE SEARCH for a missing man ended in tragedy on Wednesday when a body was found washed up on the Moray coast.
Coastguard teams and the Buckie Lifeboat were involved in the search that ended with the body being found between Findochty and Portknockie at around 6.15pm.
Police were last night with the family of the man who has not yet been identified. Three coastguard teams had been involved in the search controlled by the Aberdeen Coastguard, for whom a spokesman said: “We were called to assist in the search for a missing person on the Moray coast.
“A body was found at around 6.15pm. We were joined by the Buckie Lifeboat and police.”
Police say that there are no suspicious circumstances and the man’s next of kin had been notified.
