Resident led to safety as fire hits Elgin property


A HOUSEHOLDER WAS led away to safety in the early hours of this morning after fire broke out in an Elgin property.

Seventeen firefighters were called to the blaze on Pluscarden Road at around 1.15am this morning.

Two appliances were rushed from the Elgin fire station and another from Lossiemouth with an Ambulance crew also called to the scene.

A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We led one adult from the property and extinguished the fire.”

While the Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed they had sent an ambulance crew to the scene there were no injuries reported with no the man rescued from the scene did not require hospital treatment.
