Army to throw open their doors in Elgin

THE ARMY RESERVE in Moray are set to open their doors to the public next week for their annual showcase event.

Edgar Road in Elgin is the venue for the 7 Scots open day where all are welcome with free entry to the fun-filled family day out.

A BBQ and refreshments will be available with face painting, drill displays and performances by the Pipes and Drums from 11am until 4pm on Saturday, July 11.

The Army Reserve centre in Elgin was ‘rebooted’ last year when it became the permanent home for C Company, 51st Highland, 7th Battalion. Reservists based in Elgin can learn a number of skills that might compliment their day job – or be something completely different.

Driver training to HGV level and adventure training courses are the norm with a career adviser visiting the centre on a weekly basis.

Information can be found at the open day but the main purpose is fun for visitors to the centre!
