AWARDS THAT RECOGNISE the sporting achievements of groups and individuals in Moray will take place at the Elgin Town Hall in November.
Ahead of the ceremony sportMoray are seeking nominations with the number of categories under which awards will be given this year rising to 14.
NHS Grampian has stepped forward as sponsors for a new “community engagement” award, going to the club or group which is considered to have been associated with a particular community which has increased physical activity or sport.
Other categories for which nominations are being sought cover local service to sport, junior sports athlete, veteran sports athlete, intermediate team, senior team, coach, club level, school sport volunteer, special achievement, intermediate sportsman, intermediate sportswoman, senior sports athlete and sports personality of the year.
Nomination forms are now available by calling the Moray Council sports development officer, Kim Paterson, on 01343 563657 or by e-mailing educationandsocialcare@moray.gov.uk
A sponsor is also being sought for the awards ceremony itself – any company or organisation interested in helping to cover the costs should also contact Kim on the same number.
