MORAY IS INCLUDED in the latest UK tour of one of the most famous international troupes with a farm near Lossiemouth hosting the Netherlands National Circus next week.
As well as the traditional clowns, acrobats and illusionists, the Circus performs with its own orchestra – and the vagaries of the Moray weather should not be an issue either, with a heated Big Top provided for the comfort of performers and audience.
A star attraction at Lossiemouth will be Yasmine Smart – granddaughter of the most famous circus showman ever known in the UK, Billy Smart.
Netherlands National Circus is also unusual in that there are no animals in the show, which relies instead on high-quality theatre, live music and dance alongside the more traditional circus acts.
The Big Top will be sited at Ardivot Farm, on the A941 between Elgin and Lossiemouth, from Tuesday, July 14 with performances from Tuesday to Friday at 2.30pm and 7pm. On Saturday the doors will be open for 2pm, 4.45pm and 7.30pm performances while on Sunday, July 19 the final performances will be at 12.30pm and 15.30pm.
