A MORAY HAIRDRESSING salon should be “extremely proud” of their achievements after being shortlisted for the honour of being the UK’s Retail Salon of the Year.
KAM Hair & Beauty in Lossiemouth were revealed as one of the finalists in the HJ British Hairdressing Awards (BHA) following a two-day judging process.
Influential business associates and leading experts in the industry agreed that the Moray salon was a “leader within their chosen discipline”, and as a result KAM will be judged alongside five other finalists with the winners being announced on September 14 at a ceremony in London’s Lancaster Hotel.
“Britain is seen as a leader within the global hairdressing community and we are proud of our professionals at all levels,” Jayne Lewis-Orr, the BHA executive director said.
She added: “They are intuitive, resourceful and creative in every sense of the word and the entries submitted across all categories demonstrated a commitment that other industries could benefit from.
“KAM Hair & Beauty should be extremely proud of their achievements so far.”
A spokeswoman for KAM Hair and Beauty said it was an “incredible” feeling to be told that the salon had been shortlisted. She said: “Putting the entry together gave us the opportunity to look at our business from an outsider’s viewpoint.
“It was a very useful business tool and has allowed us to see where we can make improvements, and to finalise has been the pinnacle of the journey so far.”
The HJ British Hairdressing Business Awards recognise the expertise required to run a successful hairdressing business from marketing, salon design, training and website/Innovation.
Recognition is also given to those offering exceptional standards in customer care with the winning Salon of the Year having to demonstrate exceptional standards across all salon disciplines.
