Drivers escape serious injury in rush hour A96 accident

COMMUTERS HEADING ALONG the busy A96 through Moray on Wednesday morning were hit by a brief road closure.

All three emergency services were called to an accident involving a red Mini and a black Audi A4 at around 8.30am at the Dyke junction near Brodie.

Fire and rescue crews from two appliances were quickly on the scene alongside an ambulance and several police vehicles.

Fortunately police reported that the ambulance was not required as both drivers involved – a man and a woman – suffered only minor injuries.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: β€œThe road was closed on both carriageways for a short time but the road was cleared allowing traffic to move along a single carriageway.”

The road was later fully reopened after the two vehicles involved had been removed.
