MORAY HOTEL OWNERS Crerar are determined to live up to their reputation of putting something back into local communities by making a £25,000 offer for one local charity or community group.

Crerar are owners of the Eight Acres Hotel & Leisure Club, one of the most well-known and long established hotels in Elgin.

Over the years the Hotel has always aimed to support local community groups and charities – the Crerar Hotels Trust donates half of their distributable profits each year. Now the Trust have created a new award, the Crerar Hotels Community Prize – a £25,000 gift that will be awarded to a local project or group that brings old and young together.

A spokesman said: “Our aim is to spread the word throughout the community to make people, old and young aware of this incredible award so they can put forward their written application to the General Manager at the Eight Acres.”

The kind of projects the company will consider would perhaps be:

• Meal preparation/delivery
• Educational or training tips
• Community assistance for families in need
• Establishment of a club or association where skills and experience is passed on from one generation to another

The spokesman added: “These are just a few examples of what we are looking for – but if there is anything that people think would appeal to us then please don’t hesitate to get in touch for more information.”
