ANOTHER FAMILY FUN day is set to kick off on Sunday when the annual Logan’s Fund group gather their supporters for what has become one of the most anticipated events in the region.
Taking place as usual on the playing fields in Lossiemouth, Logan’s Family Fun Day will welcome people to all the star attractions that has made the event so popular in recent years.
The charity in remembrance of Logan Main, who lost his battle with the Neuroblastoma cancer in 2009, also celebrates the lives of other children who have battled the illness – some successfully but sadly others who were not.
From belly dancing to theatrical performances, pony riders to archery exhibitions – and a few new to the arena including the Sfear Kickboxing team and the Zara Mortimer Dancers.
Logan’s Fund chairman Cameron Mackintosh said: “There will also be a number of new fun and entertaining activities around the arena and several charities, community groups and craft enterprises will also be hosting stalls.
“Some of the new fun activities include circus skills performances and workshops, the bucking bronco and bubble football.”
Last year the day included a local tribute to the fad of the time – the ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ – and this year organisers are keeping with the times again with a ‘Mass Selfie’ being taken in the ring.
Cameron said: “We expect the BBQ, afternoon tea and cake tent and the big raffle stall to do its usual roaring trade – and we hope we get a record turnout this year on what is the last weekend before the schools go back after the summer holidays.”
An accompanying car boot sale will also be open for customers from 10am – entry to Logan’s Family Fun Day is free of charge.
