THE NIGHT SKY in Moray has once again provided the best imaginable views of the Northern Lights this week.

Stunning images have emerged from local photographers who were out and about over the weekend as the fantastic natural light show reflected on the flat-calm waters of the Moray Firth.

Regular contributor to insideMoray’s ‘Moray Life’ series on our Facebook page, Derek Stewart, captured the Aurora Borealis on Saturday evening at Findhorn, Duffus and Lossiemouth.

Meanwhile it was not only the Aurora that had our regular photographers thrilled by the natural elements, as last night Findhorn-based Patsy Goodsir captured a set of images depicting the ‘absolutely amazing’ sunset over the Moray village.

The images came over a few days that has seen Aurora-hunters out in force throughout the north east and Highlands, with many late nights for enthusiasts being rewarded with some truly stunning photographic opportunities.

Images from both Derek and Patsy can be seen this morning on the insideMoray Facebook page.
