LOCAL ROAD USERS in Speyside will not be able to use a closed road until late next week.
Moray Council revealed this week that the Knockando to Dallas road was undermined by a landslip late on Tuesday that subsequently forced the closure of the route close to the Aultahuish Bridge two miles from Dallas.
The 20-metre stretch of road was considered too dangerous to allow any traffic to pass over it, forcing motorists to take a long detour via Archiestown, Rother and Elgin with no indication on how long repairs would take.
On Friday a statement from Moray Council revealed that the route should be reopened late next week, a statement saying: “Repair work on the landslip will begin on Monday and is expected to take two or three days to complete.”
While the local authority said that local access to properties had been created some insideMoray readers insist that they have still had difficulties reaching their homes.
