Two in hospital and three in court after separate road incidents

Road was closed in Buckie following accident on Saturday evening.

TWO MEN ENDED up in Dr Gray’s hospital at the weekend following separate road traffic accidents in Buckie and Lhanbryde.

The first happened on Buckie’s East Church Street shortly after 10pm on Saturday night, when a motorcyclist riding a Suzuki collided with a Vauxhall Astra car.

As a result of the accident police restricted traffic from Cluny Square to March Road for around 90 minutes. The motorcyclist was taken to Dr Gray’s having suffered minor injuries.

On Sunday morning there was a second accident when a Fiat left the road while travelling on the A96 near Lhanbryde.

The male driver, who was the only occupant of the car with no other vehicles involved, was treated at the scene before being taken to Dr Gray’s suffering from stomach pains.

Meanwhile three men are expected to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court today in relation to a disturbance in Lossiemouth in the early hours of Friday morning.

Police were called to St Margaret’s Crescent after residents reported a commotion in the street.  Three men aged 66, 23 and 19 were reported to the procurator fiscal for alleged road traffic offences, assault, theft and disorder.
