UNDER STARTERS ORDERS will be called for Macmillan Cancer Support Elgin branch this Saturday when they host a Night at the Races at Borough Briggs Stadium.

The fun-filled evening might be off-track but the races themselves are certain to be on-track in raising funds for Macmillan – and at the same time providing a lot of fun for those attending what is always a popular night out.

Helping ensure that each race has the correct prize-winning levels are a number of Moray businesses and individuals – including Dennis Thomson builders, Craig Ramsay, the Roberts family, Buckley’s Newsagents, Whispers, Tennants (Elgin) and, perhaps offering some advice on the right horse to back, True Potential Wealth Management.

Organising the night is Tish Anderson who is the vice-chair of Elgin Macmillan Cancer Support.

She said: “This will be the first Race Night we have held in Elgin – we thought it would be a different and certainly fun night, both in terms or raising funds but also being something in a lighter note as sometimes people associate us with darker things!”

No Race Night can be complete without punters and with the Elgin City Social Club providing the best possible backdrop for any night out it is hoped that many more snap up the £7.50 tickets – each of which includes a hot supper of stovies including a vegetarian option.

Tickets can be book by calling Pat Anderson on 07824 700830 or by email to trish100uk@msn.com.
