PROFESSIONAL DARTS STARS had their sights firmly on raising funds for a Moray charity at the weekend when they took to the stage at Lossiemouth Town Hall.

Three of the best darts players in the world put their skills on show on Saturday evening for a display aimed at raising funds for the local cancer charity Logan’s Fund.

Former world masters champion Robert Thornton appeared alongside John ‘Hendo’ Henderson and Russian star Anastasia Dobromyslova – with early estimates indicating they had hit the target to the tune of at least £1500.

The darts exhibition was organised by Stuart Smylie who said that the players and everyone who had attended enjoyed a great night out – and even those who were previously not particularly big darts fans enjoyed the experience.

Stuart said: “Everyone got into it and were soon singing along to the players’ ‘walk-on’ tunes.

“The professionals were all on top form so nobody from the local darts teams who took them on managed to beat them.”

It is hoped that the darts session will become a regular annual event for a local charity that has become exceptionally important since it was formed in 2009 in memory of local toddler Logan Main, who died of a rare childhood cancer that year.

Logan’s Fund has raised many thousands of pounds since to help other children in similar circumstances with ‘Logan’s Fun Day’ a firmly established annual celebration of the toddler’s legacy.
