MORAY COMMUNITIES WILL gather at war memorials in their towns and villages in tribute to the sacrifices made on their behalf.
Throughout the region 51 remembrance services will be held next Sunday when current and former servicemen and women will gather in tribute to the fallen.
People in Moray have always held a particularly close link with the military and that is expected to once again come to the fore, with the Lord Lieutenant of Moray, Grenville Johnston, highlighting the importance of remembrance.
“It is the one day of the year when we remember those who have given their lives in the two world wars and other conflicts,” he said, adding: “I would hope that the people of Moray will as they have always done be there a week on Sunday to record what is a very special day.
“It is important that we remember those individuals who gave their lives and it is good that on at least one day each year we pause to reflect and thank them all.”
Moray Council has issued a detailed list of the dates and times when wreath laying ceremonies and remembrance services are being held around the region.
