VANDALS HAVE STRUCK at a garage forecourt in Elgin prompting a police hunt for the culprits.

Police in Moray only last week launched a new campaign against increasing vandalism in the region – but within days yet another major and senseless attack on private property was launched.

Several cars parked on the forecourt of an Edgar Road garage were attacked and damaged at some point between Thursday and Friday last week.

Investigating the case is a member of the Elgin Community Policing Team, PC Jamie Dey, who said: “Vandalism is unacceptable no matter what form it takes – it creates unnecessary expense for individuals and organisations.

“We have recently launched Operation Regard, a Moray-wide focus on vandalism and where offences are reported we will carry out appropriate enquiries and where offenders are identified they will be robustly dealt with.

“Anyone with information with information that could assist enquiries should call Police Scotland on 101, or alternatively speak with their local police.

“Information can also be given anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
